Maine Apprentice, Journeyman, or Master Electrician license preferred. Candidates actively pursuing licensure are encouraged to apply.  No previous controls experience is required for the right candidate. Training will be provided.

The Fitch Company is seeking an Electrician to join our team in Rumford, Maine. This position will primarily focus on the assembly, wiring, testing, and troubleshooting of UL508A industrial control panels in our panel fabrication shop.

The Fitch Company is a leading electrical and controls engineering firm serving industrial, utility, and manufacturing clients in Maine and other locations. This position offers the opportunity to build UL508A control panels and work alongside engineers, programmers, and experienced control system professionals. Ideal for electricians interested in expanding their skills beyond traditional electrical construction into industrial automation and controls.

Primary responsibilities will be performed in our UL508A panel shop located in Rumford, Maine. Occasional travel to customer facilities throughout Maine and other locations may be required to support installations, startups, and service work.

Salary Compensation: $28-$45 per hour based on license level, experience, and qualifications. Benefits include 401(k) with match, comprehensive health insurance, short- and long-term disability insurance, and paid time off.

Key Education or Skills

• Demonstrated experience in industrial electrical wiring and installations
• Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control drawings
• Experience troubleshooting electrical and industrial control systems

Preferred Skills

• PLC wiring and control panel assembly
• Motor control circuits
• VFD installation and setup
• Industrial instrumentation
• Troubleshooting 24VDC and 120/480VAC control systems

Qualifications

Successful candidates will demonstrate the following qualities and qualifications:

• Must be a good communicator (written and verbal) and be comfortable with customers.
• The ability to work in a team environment or independently.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to deal with competing priorities and manage time appropriately.
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Must successfully complete background check, including a 7-year criminal history review and motor vehicle record check

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to safely work in both shop and industrial facility environments around energized electrical equipment, moving machinery, and vibration.
• Must be able to walk and stand on concrete and uneven surfaces. Must be able to climb stairs and walk on metal grating.
• Ability to work in wet and/or humid weather conditions, as well as occasionally outside cold, snow and ice conditions.
• Occasional work at industrial customer sites may require exposure to dust, fumes, airborne particles, chemicals, and other environmental conditions. Appropriate PPE will be provided and required.
• Must be able to work in environments with elevated noise levels and wear required PPE, including hard hats, safety glasses, face shields, dust masks, respirators, gloves, flame-resistant clothing, hearing protection, and other protective equipment as required.
